So after seeing enough crazy shit on my commute I think I should cover my ass and get a dash cam. Currently looking at different models. What suggest you, Oppo?

I like my A118c. Mounts with adhesive, so it won’t fall down like the suction cup ones, looks like a clean instal.
Here’s my video, although it is in pretty bad conditions, low light, overcast, wipers on.

I’ve got one in each vehicle. Two Aukey’s and a DDPai. The DDPai (DDPai mini) craps on the other two (video quality and features).
The one Aukey is pretty good, as it has WiFi but I changed the SSID and forgot the password lol, it cannot be reset! Aukey refunded me for it and it still works, so not all bad.
I like a WiFi or Bluetooth avaialbe connection because I’m more likely to pull off pictures of cool cars. If I have to take the SD card out, I’ll only do it if something serious has happened.

I run an off-brand unit (model HDE-C18). I wish the quality ( http://oppositelock.kinja.com/so-this-happened-today-1796567074 ) was a little better, but this one was like $50, so I can’t complain too much. I bought it mainly because it this was one of the few dashcams I could find with dual-channel (front and rear) recording, for less than $100.

I have one of these G1W-CB cams from Gearbest:

Suction cup mount, but it’s been attached since April and hasn’t fallen down yet. I use a 32GB card in it and at 1080p, that gives me like 4 days of 70 minutes of driving each before it starts loop recording over the oldest clips.

I have an A118 that I like quite a bit, but I’d probably want higher res if I were buying today.
Regardless, get something with an adhesive mount instead of a suction cup. Better quality video (less shaking), nicer looking install, and no need to worry about it falling.

Vantrue N1 user here. Good quality and features for how tiny and cheap it is. My only complaint is that it’s not quite good enough to read license plates reliably. Sample vid of some stupidity:
I’ve also been using a Waylens in my Miata, but it’s more along the lines of a dual-purpose action cam / dash cam and is priced as such. I’m really liking it so far save for one problem: the provided mount is terrible. It rattles, it shakes, it’s adhesive instead of suction, and it’s not modular. I wound up modifying it to work with a RAM Mount instead. Sample with original mount:

I use a Thinkware X350.

I use a Blackvue DR650 2 channel (front + rear). I think the exact model is out of production now, but there is a new equivalent. I think it’s a good one for hardwired and relatively discreet installation. Random clip:
